Abuelita,
there was once this Eastern Orthodox priest who attended my Mass.  After the Mass, he approached me and said "Why aren't you preaching in a loud voice?"  I guess it is because in their tradition, to proclaim the gospel means to preach aloud.  I was however taught that the homily -- from the Gk. homilein -- should be like a conversation, as its etymology signifies.  So whenever I preach, my tone is more conversational.  I wrote the poem because I remembered that Eastern Orthodox priest.

Frair, whether it's God or parents or teachers, those who whisper truths

teach  the soul, I think..... we all ignore yelling and orders and demands, only complying until the tyrant leaves us alone.

Setting an good example often does more good than forests full of words, no?
