- Go to Happiness and Joyfulness, Is There A Difference?
Thank you for commenting.
You raise some interesting points. I wonder whether the word "joy" in its etymology would be similar to "happy" in essence.

the difference between happy and joyful: the etymology of happy is the word
hap from the Middle English for luck. Happy is an adjective. Joy is a noun - it is, in essence, the expression or manifestation of a feeling of great pleasure or ecstacy.
I was taught in therapy no less that being happy was a feeling and subjective to events, climate etc., Joy, however was more a part of your own being.
Dunno why I commented on this - Just some thoughts.
