Go to God as The Universe as an OrganismAdd a commentGo to in order for there to be a god

thank you evangeline.

it is interesting -- we are attempting to grasp a different god -- and it is difficult.  maybe that's ideal.  the old god was too easy -- too easily moldable to the religious establishment's paradigm.

my god as the universe as an organism is similar to yours -- i think that which is true god whatever that is is ungraspable -- said that before -- we have contact with only a limited part of that god -- we should treat that limited part as god, whatever it may be.

I'm really hoping for more comments, either here or in Kooka's or in justAcarpenter's blogs -- more varied ideas.  Lots of ideas we  haven't heard from yet.

a real conversation, you know?

Hi!

My God is the force of creation, all the laws of the universe, destructive and constructive.  I think God has a consciousness, but not in any way we are able to understand.  Jesus is the philosopher, the old soul who brought mankind the idea of the humane.  Others came close to defining this, but not with the same emotional tenor.  I suspect our souls (consciousness) return to God at some point--matter cannot be created nor destroyed.  There is a mind independent of the brain--I know this.  I was in a coma three days, brain dead, and not expected to live.  My mind was as clear as day the entire time.  I could even see the awful things they were doing to me (though I didn't recognize myself at first), yet I had no pain.

Universalism is the idea that Jesus saved all of humanity in the Passion, even people who never heard of him.  God is benevolent because of Christ's sacrifice.  It encourages a holistic approach to religion, borrowing from all world beliefs which promote universal humanism.
