check out the name Eusebius

and a few others in that time period of a century or so after Yeshua ben Netzarim lived and the Council of Nicea.  A very few men had control over what was and what was not canonized.

you know the Church added Apocrypha to the Old Testament and excluded books from the New.

these were excluded and ordered destroyed because they disagreed with what the established authorities established as belief and also would have eroded their authority.

Thanks for the comment. I've been studing ancient religous texts and the history of Christianity (I'ev just been doing this for a few months) and find it fascinating. So many different takes on God and Jesus and so many religious historians to show us the way!
