I've had the same thoughts as well...
Basically, just do what you feel like doing at the time and if you do different things each time, say sometimes you leave a comment and other days you don't, then so be it! Just enjoy yourself here at blogit!

To you all who left me comments here...
Thank you for the advice.. and comments.. I love getting comments.. so I try to leave comments often, but other times, I read alot of the blogs posted by the same person and I think.. does this person really want to have 25 comments, one on every entry they've made...? Perhaps.. I"ll keep playing..

Comment comment comment! It's just like networking. The more you get yourself known, the more people will read you. Like me. I didn't even know who you were, but you left a comment for me and I clicked on your name and started reading your blogs and stuff! :-)

I agree, just go for it
From what I've seen people here are generally enthusiastic about recieving comments of any sort. Almost all coments are welcome, except those that are deliberately hurtful or malicious, and you don't strike me as the kind of person who would do that, so you shouldn't worry.
As for commenting a lot vs. commenting only on things that move you...well, that's a personal decision. Some people comment on every blog they read, just to let the person know they read them. Some only comment when they have something worthwhile to say, or was really struck by the post. Disagreements are fine; it's part of the fun!
Welcome and I hope you enjoy!

if you look at the member profiles you'll see some of the top bloggers are people who started only a few weeks ago. yes there are running conversations here but a good many people in the conversation now were not around in June or May. so don't be intimidated by that. I was at first -- I didn't realize what I was doing -- and then I jumped in. Making comments helps the community grow -- and it's big enough for you. People are always coming and going so the flow does change. And when the great conspiracy to topple Ariala is complete the blog will be a total democracy--- oh, did I let that slip???!! dammit! just edit this comment out , okay?
Hope you decide to go to New York. It's my home, and you're welcome to it. I don't mean my house, now -- it's a full house with two kids and large images of Elmo -- I mean feel free to pee on the subway -- everyone else does, as you no doubt experienced when you were here last! and good luck with the pregnancy -- assume you have a copy of the girlfriend's guide by Vicki Iovine and have been told to toss those anxiety-inducing What to Expect books? cheers! tg
