Hey F4T, I just replied to you in my comments section...

It's the craziest thing I've heard, and I'd like to hope that this will end the quad/ditbike mix on the track at the same time.  I know it's an old debate, but still...

I didn't realize you knew the Howells and Konnrad that well.  We don't know them that well, well enough to stop and chat now and then, but you know how it goes...we're all one big family, when it comes to things like this.  I thought I'd update you on little Mini-mac, the quad rider.  She ends up even luckier than we thought, My husband said Pat told him she only suffered severe bruising from the whole thing.  I'm not positive of her age, I think she's about 8, but she's VERY lucky Shiri was thinking fast under pressure.  I can't help but wonder if Shiri might have fared better had she kept herself on her bike...I guess we'll never know.  Good write-up, as usual...we're all praying for the best recovery possible for Shiri and Konnrad both (Mini-mac too)...

Later...

Write On!  ltlmac70 wuz here...

Thank you littlemspickles...
for the kind words and thoughts.  The local MX community has already established a fund to help the family.  You are so right, life is dangerous.  Locally a man drowned wind surfing, a woman fell asleep and was killed in the resulting accident, luckily her four grandchildren were not injured.  A local insurance agent was killed on Oregon on a road bike accident and a former sheriff in a car wreck.  Safe journey to you as well.

It is a dangerous past time
But anything in life has its dangers - including crossing the street. You might as well live and enjoy each day while you have the opportunity to do so. It still makes it hard to accept those accidents and misfortunes that happen. I hope she pulls through for her family. Kind thoughts to you and yours as well.
