You make a good point. But I still hesitate to say we are Gods.  I am completely comfortable with us being divine and working toward Godship, but because of our egos, I think we have a long way to go.

the bible says we are gods.

a psalm, which Yeshua quoted.  Yeshua was facing his detractors, who questioned his audacity at saying he was a "son of god"; and Yeshua retorted, why do you have such trouble with that when the psalmist says, "Ye are gods.", speaking of humans of course.

The whole New Testament is pretty well devoted to describing our "godship" and being sons of god.  Paul uses the term adoption.  Hebrews says Yeshua is the "firstborn of many brethren" -- see that? -- equality with Yeshua as sons of god.

religion doesn't want that -- they want us to think we are inferior beings, inferior even to the religious leaders.

being sons of gods and "kings and priests" we all have power.

being what religion purports us to be, the religious leaders have the power -- over us.
