poor Taffy!

Girl, you must be living in NYC or New Orleans because I've had to work with lunatics in both cities and they always attach themselves to me....

About forgiveness---Forgiveness is not forgetting.  And it doesn't mean breaking bread with the people who have hurt you either.  I think Jesus wants us to leave the fate of confused or evil or angry people to God, and to stop burning up over it inside and just forgive and then move on.  It is no easy thing and I have not been able to do it.  But I am trying.  I do find that once I let my anger go, I function better, more happily.  Things are very, very complex in life.  So the Christ gave us a simple solution--just forgive, don't judge, offer love.  Even with the terrorists who killed my brother in-laws four best friends (FDNY).  What they did was horrific, but America's hands are not clean either.  In WW II, we purposefully killed (burned to death mostly) 200,000 German civilians, including women and children.  Bill O'Reilly once said he had no sympathy for those deaths because the Germans deserved what they got.  Well, that is exactly the argument Al Qaeda uses with us.  Hiroshima--Osama pointed to that event in defending his actions in an interview (pre 9/11).  None of us are innocent so I think Jesus really had the way of it---forgive and move on.
