I'm in the military as well as my dad.  I've had members on both my mom and dad's side serve in the military. 

 

I had the ultimate respect for those in the military, but my feelings have somewhat changed in the last 3 1/2 years.  I've witnessed and been a victim of very questionable "leadership" practices, which allows me to see how the prison abuse in Iraq could occur. There are people in the military that do things because they can and not because it's the right thing to do. 

 

There are other reasons why I won’t stay in the military.  If someone were to ask me if they should join, I would discourage it.  But of course if there’s a draft, they won’t have a choice.
