Go to Fahrenheit 911 - pros and consAdd a commentGo to The bin Laden family

Speaking of Craig Unger, a portion of his concluding statement in his book : "Never before has an American president been so closely tied to a foreign power that harbors and supports our country's mortal enemies." His own words; sounds very different than the conclusion you claim. Interesting...

Speaking of Richard Clarke, his declaration is not as neat and tidy as some would think. Those of us who keep up with the amazing spins and contortions twirling constantly have to wonder and question why he LIED to the 9-11 commission. Note that his testimony there was sworn, so now he is effectively perjuring himself. Haven't you wondered about that? An excerpt from an article in the Hill:

"This new account of the events seemed to contradict Clarke’s sworn testimony before the Sept. 11 commission at the end of March about who approved the flights.

“The request came to me, and I refused to approve it,” Clarke testified. “I suggested that it be routed to the FBI and that the FBI look at the names of the individuals who were going to be on the passenger manifest and that they approve it or not. I spoke with the — at the time — No. 2 person in the FBI, Dale Watson, and asked him to deal with this issue. The FBI then approved … the flight.”

“That’s a little different than saying, ‘I claim sole responsibility for it now,’” Roemer said yesterday.

However, the FBI has denied approving the flight.

FBI spokeswoman Donna Spiser said, “We haven’t had anything to do with arranging and clearing the flights.”

Thanks for reading, but I'm confused. (No, it isn't just because I'm a conservative!) Do you mean to tell me, evangeline2998, that Michael Moore does not accuse President Bush of authorizing the bin Laden flight out of the US, that he does not claim all sorts of illicit ties between the Bush and bin Laden families, that he does not infer that the bin Ladens are all (or at least mostly) terrorists and that their flight from the US was to evade justice, and that he does not rely on House of Bush, House of Saud and Richard Clarke as authoritative in supporting his claims? If so, then we really are talking about different movies, because those are precisely some of the points that are gauranteed to make Moore fans froth at the mouth, and they are samples of why this movie is so crassly wrong.

don't make a fool of yourself
Look, I respect your opinion; I live with a Republican husband. But honestly, you are refuting things Moore never claims in the movie at all.  I don't know what version of the movie you've been reading about, but it isn't the one playing in theatres. If you are going to make a point by point argument, know what it is you argue.  Go see the movie because you are making a fool of yourself.  I mean this kindly. Take care.

Stoneheart...
...has written a thoughtful and balanced review of this film here.

May I suggest that Tampa and others read it, maybe go see it, before they start spouting off about it. See, it's always good to see a film before passing judgement, otherwise you just come across as an opinionated jerk.

Bush IS the worst "president" in American history (and by God that's saying something!). Your only good defence is you didn't actually vote for him.

I don't need Michael Moore to tell me that GWB is the worst president we've ever had, and the dumbest -- the perfect idiot for corporate America to use as a puppet.  Mr. B. has proven that through the decades -- got his job through h is daddy's influence and being an errand boy for big oil.

But I do intend to see his (MM's) movie.

I have a writer on my webiste

I have a writer on my webiste that takes on media bias head on. What Mr. Moore has done is simply capitilized on election year politics and pro or con, he is making money. I looked it up today and he ranks number 5 for year - ALREADY! Obviosly, the far left ran to the box office like junkies after some high grade heroin, but for the curious and sane I have some advice...

Buy a ticket for another movie which is positive and family oriented. Once past the ticket taker (is that a word?) grab an empty popcorn bag and watch to your stomach's ability to keep you lunch down.
