westwend --- that's a tough one
The word Christian if it once had true meaning implied the followers of Christ and his teachings. All Christians were of one faith, of one denomination. Over time man has imposed his own constructs upon the word to all but render it meaningless, even if Christ's followers are to be found within it. Today many claim to be adherents to Christianity with little or no Judeo-Christian basis within their dogma. While some insist that a belief in the Triumvirate Godhead or the Holy Trinity is the only basis for determining what is a true Christian they can't even agree about this amongst themselves. Differences that seem insignificant to the outside observer are enough for one group to declare the other as not being true Christians. It becomes comical in that regard. This leaves us with our own personal definitions, as innacurate and hotly debated as they may be. To me a Christian is a person that claims to be following the teachings of Jesus Christ or belongs to a religious denomination that includes Jesus Christ as a significant portion of their dogma.
