Ever heard of an avian disease called"West Nile Virus"?
We may just be starting to recognize diseases which hop specific lines (between species), especicall when the host is "invasive" (bites or injects the victim) or if the disease is not expressed ina clinically similar manner in species "A" versus "B". Who knows, Ebola might be the equivalent of athelete's feet to some rare hummingbird or some such.
