Moondawg - when I lived in northern Victoria I experienced some of the most amazing dust storms. Mother Nature is certainly creative.

harvey - its a combination of poetic licence and wanting to have a contrast to the force of the wind

Good images
sounds like the winds that come with the thunderstorms here. It starts as a teasing cool breeze with a sent of rain, but contiues to pick up force as the storm gets closer, then finally admist the swirling dust we get two or three drops of rain, then it's over and the cars need washing again.

Cass,
Nice descriptions and some hilarious comparisons.
Are you really not moved by the awsome power of the wind . . . or just exercising poetic license?
