Malayalam is the language of kerala, the first dictionary in malayalam

wrote by Herman Gundert, a german who lived in Kerala for long time. I am not sure where malayalam came from, may be tamil influenced. Malayalam is my mother tongue. I learned sanskrit in school, because my mother's family influence. I love malayalam because of the tongue twisting and beauty of the flow.

Malayalam? Is it spoken in Kerala state only? Does it have

any lionks with the MALAY language of the former spice islands?

the word meaning SANDYA is eveningin Malayalam. Some girls named by that

word too. If I would havehad girls, I would have named, Sandya and Kavitha or deepam . I have only sons, so I couldn't use the girls names which I loved...........
