Meant to say, I did
Brent, that was a MOST IMPRESSIVE impersonation of Master Yoda.

OH PLEASE
Give me a light saber over praying any day. There is an old Muslim saying:
"One hour's work of justice is worth 70 years of prayer."
Besides, if this energy has no discriminatory intelligence, what good does it do to pray to it? I know, I know, it does great good for he who prays, but it wouldn't change anything outside of oneself.
But just in case, I am learning to pray again. I have seen some interesting studies in the effects of prayer on people, plants, etc.

More powerful when used for good, it is.
Exponentiates, the dangerous use of the power does, when young jedi fights bad things with bad things. Lose, we all do. Better, it is, to pray for good in the power's name than to act for ill backed by it.

OK later. But you are beginning to remind me of the The Force in Star Wars. If it is just energy, then I am glad it is there, but then it has no knowledge or morality to offer. It is just a resource, like a reservoir of water or a pile of gold, to be grabbed and used by the smartest or most dedicated person, good or evil. All the more reason, I say, to defeat predatory humans EARLY, so they can't USE the resource of energy here on Earth.

It's just energy; that's why
We can access it no matter what. This is why it's so important to use it in the proper frame of mind. More later, but I'm actually online to order takeout right now.

Brent, I agree that powerful energies are out there, and down here with us. They are probably looking over my shoulder as I type this. But if they are so powerful, why don't they have a greater impact for love and justice in this screwed-up world? Why is the free will of idiots so damn sacred? Those are the question that keeps me searching.

I liked that too
You know my beliefs, GM, but maybe you don't know that I don't think of God and Satan as literal. Nor do I think of heaven in a literal sense. I do strongly suspect that powerful energies are out there, though, and that we have access to them to facilitate good or ill (or something neutral). Christianity, minus the Book of Revelations, is a great foundation for ensuring the good. Just my two cents...
