Go to Separation Of Church and State?

- Go to ACLU Will Be Sued.
Again...
You seem to forget, the last time I checked, in some schools, a short prayer time is still upheld. During this time a child can pray to whomever or whatever he or she wishes. What I am saying is that the ACLU is busy trying to change every (City of Virginia Beach, VA. this week) city's shield because there is a cross on it and generally busy at taking away all religion which would include a child's prayer time in school to pray to whomever or whatever he or she wishes. That in itself is a violation of the ACLU's sacred constitution of the USA. Basically, it is funny to me personally, that no one sees the whole picture. You may since it seems this is a major part of your life. At least you do understand that there is a higher power and you obviously are not an atheist, HOORAY for that. Doesn't it strike you odd that the further we get away from God the worse things are in this nation? Does it bring to mind the coincidence of the Roman empire's loss of morals resulted in their demise?
As far as the missionaries go, you obviously understand why it is done. However, I have yet to see a missionary chop someone's head off. Muslims obviously have a so-called religion that calls for violence if you do not accept their way. For you to try to make a similarity between them and Christian missionaries is simply wrong, actually ridiculous. There are many children of broken homes and even worse who do not even know of the ten commandments. If this was introduced at school who knows what kind of positive impact it would have on that child. But, hey, let's take your course and remain going downhill. Maybe that child who has no knowledge of God may grow up to be a homegrown terrorist and cause a member of your family harm or worse. God forbid. Understand? Let's continue down this road where a President can proclaim that oral sex is actually not sex at all so that the children can grow up even more confused and have a life of hell before them. Hey as long as the constitution, which created us all, is upheld who really cares? Hey, I know, maybe if we can not only be pro-abortion but proclaim it as legal birth control that would solve everything! Then the child would not have to worry about religion because it can be killed before it starts life.
Wow, you really cleared things up for me. Thanks a lot! By the way, when you grow up and shed that liberal mind maybe we can talk. Goodbye!

let's do this again
what I am trying to get you to comment on is, basically, in your ideal secular society, what role should religion play.
We'll divide this up into parts.
Would non-Christian religions be given equal footing with Christianity in allowing prayer in schools and public expressions of religion?
Can it be done -- public expression of religion that would be acceptable to ALL Christians. That's the part of my previous queries that you haven't answered. I know that there are differences among Christians and that certain denominations hold others not to be as good as they are. I've read a Catholic Catechism and been in conversation with one or two good Baptists so I know.
And on the other point about Christians not going over to Moslem Nations and changing their religion: you know there is a multitude of missionaries over there and that they tell people that Christianity is the only true religion and that all Moslems are infidels and that people should convert to Christianity (how about the girls in Afghanistan?).
I know where Christian missionaries are coming from on that -- I won't dispute where they are coming from -- they want to convert the world as indicated by New Testament teaching -- but don't tell me that's not happening and making the statement "YOU DO NOT SEE US DEMANDING MUSLIMS IN THE MIDDLE EAST TAKE ON OUR RELIGION . . . " might be technically accurate but it does not describe accurately what is happening.

Non-Christian Religions?
Freedom of religion is available in this nation. Non-Christian religions are welcome here, HOWEVER, Christianity was what this nation was founded upon. DO NOT COME IN HERE AND TRY TO CHANGE OUR HISTORY AND WHAT THE FOUNDING FATHERS HAVE SET IN STONE FOR OUR NATION. YOUR RELIGIOUS PRACTICES ARE YOUR BUSINESS BUT DO NOT TRY TO CHANGE THIS NATION. IF IT DOESN'T SUIT YOU THEN TRY ANOTHER COUNTRY. YOU DO NOT SEE US DEMANDING MUSLIMS IN THE MIDDLE EAST TAKE ON OUR RELIGION DO YOU? NO! SO AGAIN, DO NOT COME INTO OUR COUNTRY AND TRY TO CHANGE WHAT WE ARE ALL ABOUT. CHRISTIANS WILL SHARE THE WORD OF GOD BUT WE DO NOT DEMAND YOU TO ADHERE TO IT AS IN THE WAY THE ACLU DEMANDS THINGS MUST CHANGE AND WE CERTAINLY DO NOT KIDNAP YOU AND CUT OFF YOUR HEAD. UNDERSTAND?

oddly enough i think the aclu is tolerant of
your religious beliefs
you can go to church and worship as you please
you don't have a state run church telling you how to worship -- you know about state run churches -- even churches that run the state -- history tells us that at one time people couldn't worship as they pleased
thank Martin Luther for starting your freedoms.
I think the ACLU is trying to protect religious freedom -- freedom from people being told how to worship.
you should thank them

I really need to know something . . .
Let's say our government decides to allow religion back in the manner you personally would like to see.
Since the constitution says, "Congress shall make no laws respecting religion . . . " what allowances do you see being made for Judaism, Mohammedanism, Buddhism, Hinduism, Taoism, Zoroastrianism, and various non-Christian religions; then among the Christian religions, do you see that they will all agree; i.e., Eastern and Greek Orthodox, Roman Catholic, LUtheran, Presbyterian, Anglican, Episcopalian, Methodist, Baptist, Southern Baptist, EVangelical LUtheran, Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, Disciples of Christ, Church of God, Assemblies of God, Jehovah's Witnesses, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Unity Church, Unitarian Universalist, Pentecostal and so on?

once you honor religion in any in the secular world, to be fair, you have to include all religions, which can be somewhat cumbersome. Then you have to honor anti-religions too.
or -- you go down the road of exclusivism,, where you exluce one religion after another unt8il you finally come to Christianity -- then you distill it to one Christian denomination.
Probably the one with the most members -- right?
or maybe the one that was the predominant denomination upon the founding of our country, which was the Episcopal Church -- a truly American Church, and of which I am a member.
I'd tihnk I'd like that -- you can only be an Episcopalian and believe what Episcopalians believe.
Episcopalians rule.
