women started working en masse in the 60's- the reality of 2 income families drove up the price of everything from bread to homes. When Reagan took office the highest tax bracket was 70%- when he left it was 38%. That made and still makes a huge difference to single income families, and indeed, everyone.
The Soviet Union on the verge of collapse? So were we. his policies turned around a country ailing from failed ideas like Johnson's Great Society and the bungling of VietNam. Reagan changed that. That he did it and did so with grace, fortitude, and a smile seems to irritate liberals, who think the have monopoly on virtue.

I was astonished at the press and b.s. surrounding his death ...then again news mostly b.s., I don't watch it much.
