Oh my, lol, that is such a great analogy I love it. Thanks for the advice... I am really hoping that one way or another things will work out for both... I do admit I am a bit wary and kinda feeling bad for having been greedy, as the New Hope editor has tried to help me secure a real job as well....

Sure, you can butter your bread on both side, but you are going to make a mess. You are in a position, I feel, where you have to choose. If you try to play both sides there is a good chance you will lose both. Now, if you can find a way to turning around having to choose and make it work in your favor, that would rock. If the papers are fierce competitors then the editor that wins will have won against the other paper. Get what  I mean? I haven't writen for newspapers, but I have juggled five boyfriends at once.
