I love the line "the marrow of the night". Its one of those repeatable lines that will flow thru my head. What a great description.

Faranya and other sonnet lovers... edited version up
I worked again on this sonnet today and the lines are closer to Shakespeare's meter. Let me know if u agree/not

Apologies to those who could not get to my email
A certain leprechuan named SUESS has invaded my mailbox and has had many suitors write me instead of her. Until I send them off to their un-merry spouses, email is, regrettably, slower than my usual "punctual efficiecy".

I dd ot work on the meter; stressed & unaccented syllables NOT easy4me
I could have stuck with 12 syllables, close enough to everyday rhythms of speech, but I wanted certain words in for impact: "Proclaiming a monotheistic truth," for instance. Thanks for reminding me that I may also find myself through BLoGGING. Dr Suess/Suess may approve of that!

Hi Punster!
I always enjoy reading other writers' sonnets. I find the English form a bit more user-friendly. This one reminds us that it's best not to search
too hard online for a perfect world, because it's not necessarily going to be there. Yet we do live in hope and can plunge into the "marrow of the night" with a mouse-click and find ... what? Maybe love at the other end. Maybe just friendship, or reassurance. Maybe, in some way, we can even find ourselves when others tell us how we affect them. Good read! ~ faranya

Thanks for reading, Sue. Sonnets are a vehicle...
that I prefer. Most of my writing runs between 14-20 lines. Trem's haiku are exercises in brevity, not too easy to do well. Your writing has feelings, mine combines form with existential isuues.BTW Bbelle did not enjoy that someone blew her cover... it's good to keep some privacy on Blogit or on the Net, generally. Peace out!
