Our belief in a personal God

does not do away with a faith that is based on a common source.  In fact, the Catholic insistence on the necessity of being guided by the faith of Peter is like the Jew's insistence on being guided by Moses.

We believe that the Lord wanted first of all a community of faith -- His Body -- and to the extent that each Catholic lives according to the demands of the koinonia, to that extent is he/she practising the religion that the Lord wants.

Belief in a personal God?  We Catholics think that He joins us for dinner!

So then Catholics don't believe
in a "personal" God?  --That God doesn't care about us as individuals, at all?  (I should probably get another moniker, if it didn't cost money, that of "Doubting_Thomas", as my protestant pastor seemed to imply that I had every right to be....)  I'd appreciate an answer to this, even if you decide to delete it from your comments....
