okay, attax, I will say that your writing in this post is less obtuse, less

'secret coded', and more verbally clear. I usually have to read you three times to understand your 'personal' thoughts because you hide them under your fabulously fun vocabulary and references that are often unclear to me.

Don't get me wrong, I adore vocabulary words, loved spelling bees and tests which asked me to define words heretofore unknown to me, however, you often use them to hide behind. By that I mean, you pile them up into big heaps and obscure your own meanings with the technique.

I appreciate the fact that, in this post, you spoke to a more diverse audience, one which could hear your thoughts, understand them and then develop their own opinions of your opinions.

You often give me brain cramps, dear heart, when you start to pile up words which have many meanings and I can't discern which one you refer to at that moment in time.

And, if the desire here is to educate us, to enlighten us, then you must tell those of us who do not know what Harry said, just what he said that set you off. Obscure references like that don't teach us a darned thing, if we aren't paying particular attention to Black American communications in our lives, and many of your readers aren't. I may know what you refer to, but I'm thinking that most of your readership may not.

Teachers don't have to 'dumb down' to the sixth grade levels of newspaper quality, but, if they want their students to learn, they must be very clear in their teachings, otherwise the entire lesson flies over the students' heads and is lost. Large vocabulary words are fine, just don't pile them up, please, until the thought gets buried under them.

This is not criticism, nor an attack, just a writer writing to another writer. I like your spirit, your often unheard in the media voice and your 'different' opinions. I may not agree, but always read you anyway.

There. I came back. Sorry now or am I okay with you still?
