Under copyright law as soon as you write it it is yours...
that means when you post it there is a time and date stamp on the post. In the Blogit contract they are very clear that by posting you are agreeing to Blogit using your work on the site in anyway that they want. Key words being
Blogit and
On the site. Actually posting to Blogit will give you a good case if your work shows up under someone elses byline; you have proof that you created the work on or before the time/date of posting and you can sue. Whether or not you can win, I'm not sure; but you'd have a good case. Besides, every story has been told, we're all just interpreters...

I don't publish fiction on this site at all because I would be very upset if someone copied it. There really isn't a way to copyright your writing. You just have to trust people will abide by blogit's rules of conduct. I just stick to writing journal blogs. I don't mind if someone uses my life experiences for their fiction stories. I read only journal/opinion blogs because they help with character development. That's all I can tell you.
