No, I don't think you see why I'm angry at Gore.

Thanks for reading, and for your thoughtful comments.

Once again, here's why I'm angry at him. Beyond the implications I pointed out of his recommendations and what constitutes a threat and a disaster to America, I  have a real issue with him keeping silent about Clinton's inaction towards terrorism while attacking the first president to take the issue seriously enough to do something about it. I'm also angry at him using his influential position to demoralize our servicepeople when they need words and actions of support and encouragement, and for coming across as a sore loser who's more interested in blaming others for the consequences of his and his former boss's screwups than in rallying that support.

Sorry if I wasn't clear in saying this, but like any other war protester Mr. Gore has every right to his opinions. My issue is that with a position of great prominence comes a great responsibility to use his rights for good. Undoubtedly, he spoke his mind. But that doesn't automatically make his opinions right, no more than an idea that the moon is made of green cheese (or, more to the point, the attempted national guilt trip that claims all of us are as evil as terrorists because of the abuses of Abu Ghraib prisoners) is right.

By the way: Siince military credentials have become so important a criteria in a presidential election, what military credentials does Mr. Gore have?

I can see why you're angry at Gore
He was right on in his speech.  He had the cojones to tell it like it is, which is that the Bushies have made a complete and utter mess of things, and our country is much the poorer for it.  It was a brilliant and uncompromising speech, and I'm glad that you listened to it with such attention.  You might learn something from it!
