On-line bookings

A valid on-line booking website (Expedia or Travelocity for example) will provide you with a confirmation number.  You can check with the hotel directly, using the confirmation number, and verify that you do, indeed, have a room.  Many hotels give you the option to guarantee the room with a credit card which gives you some protection in case you arrive late.  Without a guaranteed room--just because you booked the room in advance doesn't mean it's guaranteed--if you don't arrive at the hotel by a certain time your room may be sold to someone else.

Enjoy your trip.
