Thanks everyone who attested to the fact that I'm not a freak. I was raised
if you want to call it that, eating sugar out of the jar, chocolate milk powder by spoonfulls, I ate until I was sick, and would never touch a glass of water. I'm better, and it's all because of my kids. Eccentric....I just gave up Mountain Dew, which is my #1 drug of choice. I can't say I'm off it for good, the stuff is like heroin for me. But I never quit trying to quit. That's all I can say, and teach my kids. Don't give up.

Schatz you're not alone. My boys never had candy (we call it lollies here) or soft drinks (you call it soda) or chocolate until they started going to birthday parties. Could I ever tell when they had been to a party - they were soooo hyped up it wasnt funny! Even now - and they are 15, 13 and 11 - they will eat more fruit and raw vegetables than they will junk, so something must have worked!

Good job Schatz
Giving me inspiration to leave the soda at the store. I grew up on cherry coke and still want to drink it 24/7.

good for you!
That's the way to do it. I try to feed my kids that way but I have a few rebels. They eat it when they're hungry enough.
