LadyK and Temple, what I love about Santa Rosa being declared a saint is
that one day she declared that she had prayed to save her beloved Lima, Peru, from a devastating earthquake that she felt was about to happen. It didn't happen, amazingly,  and she told everyone that she had saved their precious city. For praying to save them from the earthquake that never came, and who could say that she hadn't intervened, she was made a saint. What a young woman! She also ran the streets with San Martin de Porres, another mixed race religious minded Peruvian and helped him out in his good works.

Of course I noticed Sr. Rose, dear soul grandmamma
and was honestly going to comment on her, but it was lost in the moment of DICK.  Really leapt out at me because my mom's good friend took this good Saint's name as her own.  Maybe I should try lime as an acne cure.  God knows the Clearasil never worked.

Temple, I am so happy to know that I made you LOL when 'swimmy'.

I liked that image of Mom shaking it, too. Every once in awhile all the family women get up and dance and she does, too. But getting her to 'shake it' like they do in the rap videos would really be something.

Hope that this Springitme is kinder to you next week or so. Thanks for reading and commenting.

Ah, another redhead. I knew we were kindred. ;)

Too tired to think...add spring in bloom and benedryl, and I'm downright swimmy.  But, this was briliant:  Turns out, we’re supposed to "grab the wall and shake it, shake it". So, I shook it dangerously as I drove up into the foothills to my old Mommy’s house. Maybe I could teach her to ‘shake it’, too.  Laughed out loud, I did.  Excellent post...love it, love you.

JadedMommaMind, Thanks for reading. Thanks for commenting, a plus
for me. Some days it is just fun to be old and foot lose and fancy free and an artist who cares little about other's opinions about her, except on Blogit, of course.

LadyKenobi One, we cover up in the desert, except the young and the

foolish and the oldsters who are too dehumidified and leathery already to care anymore. I dress like a caravan camel tender in the Sahara on most days. Covered head to toe, well that's a lie, no hat, not ever.....However, on bad hair days  and wattley necked days, I would like to borrow my sister's old Chador from Iran and hide inside it, only darkly made up eyes visible.....all those wrinkles just vanish then.

I own no shorts, no tank tops, no strapless dresses anymore, but rather dress as a reformed Muslim woman in America, long sleeves and legs covered. Just ask the Tuaregs about desert dress.

I was sure that you'd comment on Santa Rosa de Lima, but you didn't.....I put her in there for you.

Sue9457, I try to make people sound good and happy, usually. I do it to
keep up everyone's spirits in this crazy and unpredictable world. Thanks for the compliments and thanks for stopping by.

I agree with LadyKenobi - I want to have your (dangerous) life.  It sounds like fun.

See, I'm not so much concered with the fact that the sweatpants said "DICK"

as I am with the fact that this chick was wearing sweatpants, period, in the middle of May, in ARIZONA.

What fun this was to read.  I want to be like this when I grow up.

I enjoy your style of writing. It's very engaging. You use the word "dangerous" alot. Was that on purpose? Do you live in California?

attax, this is a fairly crime free area, not a big city, so purses are

still a safe fashion statement. I usually use those waist wrapping pouchy things, more convenient and less shoulder hurting.

It amazes me what our government has managed to accomplish in spite of itself. Amazing. This book fills me with despair about the environment, we haven't a chance, things fall apart and no one says, "Stop, think, refuse to spend, plan for reality, think of the poor taxpayers, do other more important things with our money." No one within the government ever says that loudly enough.

I find that I now like the idea of the Line Item Veto, giving the President the power to stop some foolishness, at least, not that they ever do enough, ever. It is scary how flawed we humans are. But, we could be living in Honduras or the Sudan and really be going crazy with all that they have to live with.

Thanks for reading me again. And for commenting.

arid

You're absolutely right.  Government projects never succeed.  It does get that hot even here.  When that happens I hide in the air conditioning though I usually sleep through daylight.  I'm scared to go to the beach before January.  You still own a purse?  In places like they can't steal what you don't show.  You'd have more potable water if people regained their senses and moved back to Chicago and Akron where they belong.
