You squat to rest?  Just like my grandma used to do.  Stop the custom, it is bad for the lower back.  Look for a bench instead.

The top 10 still exists - look for "Top Blogs" at the bottom, or click on the old home page.

Friar, 250 pounds? I spent so many years in foreign countries, that when I
want to get comfortable outside and am tired of standing, I squat down, resting my bottom on my heels and can talk for hours like that. Well, now, I can't. I can't lift 140 pounds back up into a standing position and my knees complain and my calves and thighs are weak. I forget, tho'. I start talking and as it goes on, I tire and then suddenly squat down forgetting that I won't be able to get up easily again.  I often have to call to someone younger to help me to stand again. Rats. Age!

Not yet?
So how come I can no longer lift 250 lbs off my back?

As I do too, certainty to quickness, viejo. I am old and you are not yet.

Ay, Abuelita
thank you for the tip.  Right now, I feel as if I am getting slower; the burden of the years, you know.  Though slower, however, I am becoming more prudent and making better decisions than I used to.  The age of responsibility has come and no matter how fast the world may get, I'd prefer certainty to quickness.

Frair Guti, there is a book called "Faster" and you might read it. It
speaks of how the world and everything in it has moved from years of accounting time, or seasons, at least, into days and then hours and minutes and seconds and now nano seconds of incrimental counting. Everything is faster now, even our front Home page....but, there is more variety and that is good, as you say. Good to have you back sitting there in the Cafe', reading your book in a dark corner as you used to do.
