In many ways you're right.
Appeasment and hyper-concern sometimes seem to drive the military in this media-rich war.
We do have to make a choice: more dead soldiers or put up with the hypocritical antics of muslins using their 'holy' places as shields. Seems like the majority of places in Iraq are holy. How is that?
We were tentative in Vietnam, not willing to go all the way and it was a stalemate for years. We should have learned from our mistakes.
