ah, full of family... the way Mom's day should be

glad you had a good one :)

but my GOD stop the seven year old with the cheering before it's TOO LATE!  Bleah!  Dress her up as an astronaut or something equally appropriate for little girls who will grow up to be SMART women who don't need to fling body parts from here to kingdom come to get attention.  Man, it's a good thing Taufling turned out to be a boy.

bridget, pets are children, too. I have two doggies and tho' they were
upset on Mother's Day by studio cleaning and dust flying and grandchildren everywhere, we all had a nice day here at my house. I didn't go see Mom, but let her have other visitors, fewer than the day before.

majroj, yes, she had the flowers from the hospital and food coming in, so

the next best thing was to clean and to repair things. My daughter asked me what I wanted and I asked her to help me to clean out my art studio. She whined about easy restaurant meals and things, but came and made a good start with me. Promises to return and help me to finish the job. We shall see......wanted to buy me something. Bah humbug. I need extra hands, not extra 'stuff' in the house!

Black and Decker should use this in their ad campaigns, no? Or Home Depot, Ace Hardware and Loew's!

Temple, you inadvertently made me laugh with your comment, its error.

You wrote, I'm sorry your mom is well!!! Cracked me up, in the middle of your serious best wishes for all of us. Thanks!

Yes, she not only feeds them, and has for over thirty years out there, but raised us all to be the same, rescuers. My brother feeds thrity-five neighborhood strays, captures and spays them and releases them. Most have feline leukemia and die, but he cannot put them down until they begin to suffer. The Animal Control would just wipe them out. The neighborhood is rotten with it, so they all hang out on his huge porch and eat and drink and sleep and die.....cared about and loved. He knows that he should do the strong thing and try to wipe out the disease by putting them all down, but it's impossible, its all over the soil and everything there, so he does the Mother Theresa thing.

The city put in a freeway there and the cats had nowhere to go.....eventually, they all came to his house. He does the same with a few dogs.....but they live in the house and garden now.

AND, he's just one of the six of us. I keep my rescue numbers low, as I am too poor to do much more than try to return the ones that I find or find them homes.....I'm down to two dogs.

What a wonderful tradition to start...

Screw Hallmark, bring the Black and Decker!

You guys will have to take turns, though.

Best wishes to your clan!

It sounds like such a wonderful time.
Even when things are scary with your Mom, it's great that you can all come together and laugh.  That's when you remember why you didn't tell them all to go to hell at one time or another.  I'm sorry your Mom is well, but I'm glad for this wonderful story.  It took me away.  I hope your Mother's Day is filled with a lot more laughter and that your Mom feels much better.  I like her...she feeds all the stray kids like I do.  :)
