Thanks for the information, Kevinco and reading. No, I won't be voting for Nader, much as I'd love to see him win. I'm a realist (a vote for Nader is actually a vote for Bush, in my opinion) and do think there is more difference between Bush and Kerry than a dime's worth. Enough to truly change the frightening, tragic course plotted by Bush and criminal cronies? I'm hoping and praying so. I'm fairly certain Nader did compare Bush and Kerry this way. Thanks again!

historical note
It was actually George Wallace who first used the "not a dime's worth of difference" phrase in 1968, referring to Richard Nixon and Hubert Humphrey. Wallace was running as a third-party candidate. Nader echoed the remark while comparing Bush and Gore in 2000. I'm not sure if he has said the same about Bush and Kerry, but that's clearly how he feels. If you feel there's any substantive difference between the two candidates, you'd be making a mistake voting for Nader.

Thanks for that reminder, Bayani. How true..."it ain't over 'till it's over!"
Also, I just remembered during the 2000 elections, watching CNN that fateful evening when they predicted, with high confidence Gore as the winner. *Sigh*...I whooped and danced joyfully...

Response to Passionflower and thehobbit...
I think Passionflower thehobbit feels I am so full of anger and frustration at the way our country; world actually is being ruined I may explode when Bush wins. I believe he was trying to soothe me and remind me of who is really in control: God. Which is fine, I do have a strong faith in Him. However, I also subscribe to: "God helps those who help themselves". I feel strongly compelled to write politically, perhaps this is God's message in response to my many prayers. Not that I am deluded into thinking a few heartfelt missives here will change the course of the election. But if it causes just one person to start paying attention to the mess we are in and questioning; challenging the status quo, then I will feel a sense of accomplishment. Thank you both for your thoughts and comments. Debate is good for the soul.

Passionflower took my comments out of context. I never said what will be will be. What I said was that whatever happens was meant to.That does not mean you don't try to do something; but if inspite of what you do something else happens, then do not feel let down that you did not do enough.
If we know now that Bush will win, lets call off the elections and save the country some money. That because both candidates are white won't make a difference is bullshit. That's an insult to American intelligence.

In 1948, everyone expected Dewey to Defeat Truman, the prior to close of voting, The Chicago Trbune has already announced Dewey's victory. Truman won.

I think the hobbits rules are bullshit. History has proven time and again that when people sit around and say, "What will be will be" and don't try to get involved and make a difference, the world goes to hell, which is where it is now. Sadly, both Bush and Kerry are Rich White Guys, so it won't make any difference who gets elected but I'm predicting Bush will win it easily.

So very true, thehobbit. I pray for humane, open leadership. A government by, for and of the people. All people... Nothing more, nothing less. Thank you for the wise thoughts.

Yes I heard something along those lines too, Scriber. The Clinton's are basically in the same mold as Kerry. Easily bought and sold. Thanks for reading.
