Sure, there are those who'd say that Men With Cats is just as sad or sadder...what matters is that you have Holly's heart, whether it's coming from a cat body or not. Thanks for your comment.

A Man's View of Feline Affection:)
How about a single man with a cat fetish? Or worse yet, a single man with no girlfriend, with a cat fetish?

I am 20 and live with my parents and four cats, a dog, and a rabbit. We are animal people, no doubt about it. And in our experience, cats are indeed affectionate creatures.

How could anyone say cats aren't affectionate? My Holly -- now 12 years old -- perks up when I come home after a long absence, and she steps up and puts her two front paws on my torso and goes through scratching motions (she can't actually scratch because she has no front claws). She obviously is showing affection.

When I am trying to read, she comes and sits right in front of the book, obstructing my view, lies down, narrows her eyes in a look of utter contentment and pleasure, and purrs. How could one say that is not affectionate?

I am a straight single male who loves cats, and I'm proud of it! So you go right ahead loving your cats; they deserve your love, and you deserve theirs!

As a woman with 6 cats, 2 kids, and a husband...

there have been NUMEROUS times I would like to have only had the cats! LOL

They certainly are less work.  No laundry, no cooking, and very little cleaning up after (compared to kids and hubby).

As a woman who hoped to be a single with four cats but ended up with four kids... opps I mean three kid and a spouse, I see nothing wrong or ignoble about loving cats. Cats are easy to love and really don't demand much when you compare it to what humans demand of us. Cats don't always have to be right. Cats try to helpful when they aren't trying trip us. I do like having both though, sometimes.

Thanks for the correction. I knew the two of them were walking down the street but I forgot who said it.

Actually, Kim Catrall's character, Samantha, said that.  I'm not sure anything will top women with cats as the new sad thing.
