Seeing a therapist is not a part of the culture of Jamaicans.  There is a stigma attached to seeing a "shrink"...and maybe that's why we have so many people wandering around our streets, naked and crazy as loons.

Your post gives food for thought.

Yeah,sometimes the dark stuff makes for the best read! LOL. And doesn't it make sense that depressed or emotionally damaged people would choose a profession where they don't have to interact with anything but an inanimate keyboard??

Many writers and artists have emotional and/or mental problems. Most of us suffer from depression. Whatever gets turned on in our brains that makes us creative also makes us manic. I've learned to use mine for good. Stories and characters come out of all that dark shit.
