Benzinha -

Sell it on Ebay.  I'm not kidding.  I put my dead car on Ebay with an ad that started out "Okay so I was an idiot...", and proceeded to explain that the car did NOT run, needed a new engine, had hail damage, the AC & power steering had been removed because the vibration of the bad engine kept knocking them off.

I got almost $600 for it, and even had three different people wake up at 4am to bid on it.

Auntie "AK" Kenobi, sounds like you'll have to write a three paged descrip-
tion of the Bellemobile at the moment of its sale, as I have done!! Mine pees on me while it's raining, doesn't wait until afterwards.....ah, vehicles, an adventure in patience and torture.

homegirl, sounds like I could have gotten a better car from you, if I had

stood outside the door of your church at just the right moment!! Rats!

I can't afford to donate it, need the few bucks that it will bring to insure the newer one and put some gas in it.

WWM, character, yes. And NO, I don't want to sell it, but the family is
insisting that I do, because my brother is giving me his 1984 Volvo station wagon and there is no room in my driveway for the van after that. Rats. I wanted to keep it for use as a future home, whenever I became homeless and needed a crash pad. They tell me to be more optimistic about my future than that, so......it's for sale.

JadedMind, I would get $250 for scrap, so I may have to go that way.
I expect that it will sell for around that. I'm hoping for $500, but, I'm an optimist, an eternal optimist.

and I thought I had it bad
because the Millenium Bellemobile's CD player quit on the way home from the dealership, the sunroof a few days later, and the glove compartment two months ago.  Also she pees on me after it rains, but that's OK, because here in Florida it never EVER-- uh, never mind.

SOUNDS LIKE THE CAR I GAVE TO THE CHURCH LAST YEAR

so they could give it away to a needy family....

(minus the big dent) .. we only had one little dent in it.

benzinha:
wow - now there's a vehicle with character!!  and you want to sell it??

I hope that's not the ad you're placing in the paper!
LOL - I think if you sold it for scrap you might get more for it.  Not many people would be as understanding as you are about that van.

beachbelle, I bought it for $1,000 five or six years ago and will be lucky

to get $500 for it. No book about How To Sell Your Car would ever help this thing to sell.

I shall vaccuum it and wash it, probably removing its paint job, clean the windows and make it smell good, but nothing but a small forest would hide the huge dent on the driver's side and its door problems.

I thought that, rather than say these things about the van ten times,( am I really expecting to have ten propective buyers!!!??), I would just write them all out and post them on the window, like they do at the car dealerships. Then, it's all said and done and they know exactlly what they are buying, no tricks.

We have many people poorer than I am who might need this van to just take kids to school or to go buy groceries, maybe fill it up with landscaping and gardening tools and clean up some gardens for folks, dunno.

Am I crazy? I expect to sell it. Wild, no? Ever the optimist........

So you don't really want to sell the van?
I bought my first car for $800. Four years later I sold it complete with new engine for $1200. My boyfriend had given me a book "How to Sell Your Car for More Than it's Worth". The car looked so great, I almost didn't want to sell it. I sold it to an old man who when I offered him a test drive said to me "You drive it." I drove him to a quiet road and insisted he drive it.
