Friendster has issues that have nothing to do with marketing and everything to do with the setup of the place.  You can only talk to people within your network and cannot search for new people unless they are already in your network - but this does not reflect real life. 

And let's say that you and I are connected, and you know John Doe through me.  Then I decide to delete my account....you're no longer connected to John Doe, and can no longer communicate with him.  In real world networking, I might provide you with an introduction but I'm not going to REMAIN the pivotal connection once you two have started talking. 

It's frustrating to attempt to REPLY to someone and find out you've been cut off from communicating with them because someone who is NOT involved decided to delete their account.

If I'm going to pay for a networking site, I want to be able to truly network.
