BN plans

There are many professional writers and editors on BN, not all of whom write on BN, so we're hearing of more and more cases of this kind of networking.

Although we don’t currently have concrete plans to encourage networking, we’re interested in hearing ideas on what would help, so please list any suggestions you have.

Something Nice to Say
How about if you don't have something nice to say, write it down, then rip it up, then burn it, and if you still can't resist the urge, it may need saying?  At least you have thought about it first.  Sounds like a good middle ground.

I HAVE ANOTHER MOTTO
Being from Hollywood, my motto is: "If you don't have anything nice to say about anybody -- come over here and sit by me!"

I agree with kidnykid

and that is why I asked about standards.  As I said, when I interviewed Dan Rather for an article he mentioned several times that he followed a code of journalism ethics.  Since bloggers appear to have none.  I'm working hard to follow the advice of my Mom, "If you don't have something nice to say, stay silent."

I'd heard the same thing
The ads on Google imply that professional writers come here all the time for that purpose - to scout out new writing talent. The only problem is that we have been overly involved in intramural warfare of late. Hard to show your best side when that sort of behavior is so prevalent on a site like this.
