- Go to Why I Am Not An Atheist
I was an atheist at 11
but I've mellowed a little since then. I'm still not a christian, though. I think a large factor on whether religion comes into your life after atheism is whether you had it before. Teaching christianity (or really any religion) to small children ensures that those teachings will stick with them the rest of their lives in some form, whether they believe or not, and some find it easier to go back to believing because of it. It takes a lot of work to recover from brainwashing and some find it's not worth the effort.

I'm not a true Athiest but I'm definitely not Christian either.
I believe in a higher power but that's it. I think religion is the cause of a lot of the world's problems. It's just one more way for people to segregate themselves.
