True. Vigilance and immediate response, followed by harsh punishment (death) is not foolproof, and may not be a quick enough method to save lives in the short term, but it is what I support. As for rights, it is important that in our pusuit of terrorists that we do not bend the Constitution. It may be more difficult without the shortcuts, but we cannot jeopardize individual rights.
I do believe that if our populace armed itself and trained itself to carry those arms, we would stop more terror. Along with the training on weapons, we have to learn to be more observant and to be a better judge of people, at the individual level.

We walk a tightrope between freedom and security....
My brother was abroad when the trains got blown up and I have traveled internationally also. But it can happen anywhere. There is nothing that can't touch if they put thier minds to it! 9/11/04 taught us all about low tech, high planning attacks. We walk a tightrope between freedom and security.... SFTreat
