I'm the one who is reacting "wrongly." You see, I've read all that violence in the accounts of the visions of Catherine Emmerich and Mary of Agreda, so when I knew that Mr. Gibson was inspired by these books (from an EWTN interview), I was already expecting it. Before I saw the "blood and the gore" of "The Passion of the Christ", I had already imagined it. I guess, I was "prepared" for the film.

Thank you for referring me to your article. I agree with you. But I guess SEEIng it on the screen was sometimes tough to handle, especially the second time around.
