CLARKE LIES
Clarke is obviously paid to lie by democraps and has totally contradicted himself under oath. He should go to jail forever. He was an incompetent boob, and now he's lying to cover his and Clintoons tracks!

Democraps are paying him a bundle to sell his soul.

The way to beat terrorists.

Is primarily to use undercover and intelligence to ferret out who they are, where they are and what they are planning. 9/11 could have been prevented with this kind of cooperation and intelligence sharing between CIA, FBI, and foreign Intelligence sources.

Once terrorist cells are discovered they should be eradicated by any means possible. The rumor that terrorists are or may have access to small nukes makes all of this even more imperative.

Convincingly written blog.  Your conclusion echoes the rhetoric of strong historical speeches of the past.  My question for you is this: How will Kerry defeat the terrorists?

It's important that people like you and me inform as many people as possible about the the plunge into an abyss for our nation if Bush is returned to office (not "re-elected" since he was never "elected" in the first place).

The rightwing media has brainwashed enough minds to think that the obvious failures of the Bush administration are about to turn-around as Dum & Evil consistently demonstrates. People with knowledge and concern for the future must speak out whenever and wherever possible.

KERRY IS DONE
Kerry would be the end of America for sure. He's been ripping people off for 20 years while he has very little and only a bad senate voting record to show for it. Kerry is way out of touch with reality and hasn't had a real job ever. All he knows is tax tax tax and spend, spend, spend.

Bush is kicking his ass and you loser liberals are sucking up the democrap from the liberal media just like you all did during the 2002 mid-terms. The results will be the same or worse for democraps because Kerry's foolishness and anti-Americansim is on Vivid display!

But keep your UTOPIAN dreams up, it'll be that much funner to watch as Kerry crashes and burns!

Spy
I share the sentiment found in the last line of your last comment post.

We're in deep, deep trouble. Our place in world affairs has always been respected for a long, long time. This was sufficiently true even during the Reagan years.

Americans who have lived their entire lives here take our perennial position for granted. They fail even to question whether it will change. The thought of peril as you have described it has trouble even entering the public consciousness. Blithe minds assume that the U.S. will forever be top dog.

That might explain why so many don't care. We're spoiled.

mj: Bush is no choice at all.

Bush is without question  the most dishonest, cowardly, ignorant and egotistical fool to ever occupy the WH.

When it comes to lies, no one tells more. Congressman Waxman has a website that lists 237 documented lies told by Bush before the Iraq war. I would also recommend the book, "The Lies of George W. Bush," by David Corn for more on the subject.

Good judgement is a result of knowledge, vision and courage. Bush is incapable of good judgement because he lacks knowledge (historical and otherwise), he has no vision and he is truly a coward. The blunder of forcing a war in Iraq while Al Qaeda was and remains our single greatest enemy was criminally stupid and negligent.

Bush's recklessness with regard to the US Treasury is another area where he has shown himself to be corrupt beyond belief! For America to go from hundreds of billions in surplus to over a half trillion in deficit in three short years under Bush says all that is necessary about how incompetent and dissolute Bush is.

If Bush is returned to the WH, America will sink like a stone into international crisis and domestic chaos. Mark my word!

Spy . . .
Interesting that you should bring up those two particular historical precedents for this election, Spy. I definitely agree with you that both were pivotal elections, but I have to take issue with some of your conclusions. FDR, for example, can hardly have his economic programs credited with getting us out of the depression . . . we remained in an economic malaise until the war galvanized our economy and pulled us out. FDR definitely deserves credit for his handling of the war - both before and after our "official" involvement in it . . . but all his economic policies have done is left us with a bunch of hold-over bureaucracies focused on government handouts, which still to this day contribute more to our federal deficit than any other segment of our economy. As to Lincoln, I definitely agree that he came to power at the single toughest time this nation has ever faced. It's ironic, though, that you so castigate our current president for his consolidation of power, and lashing out - in your view unnecessarily - at our enemies, when Lincoln did exactly the same thing, in the view of many people. Lincoln exercised what was unarguably the greatest power grab by the federal government in American history. It is, in fact, his precedent that Bush has followed on a lot of his decisions regarding the handling of prisoners of war at Guantanamo Bay - Lincoln was roundly criticized for also holding prisoners indefinitely without any criminal charge - though Bush has yet to imprison any members of the Maryland state legislature as Lincoln did. Lincoln was also begged by some of his Republican supporters not to stand firm in his insistence that Federal forts in seceding states (like Fort Sumter) would remain occupied by Union troops in what had just become foreign territory - the decision that finally put a match to the war that had been brewing since the nation's inception. He was told that it would be much, much wiser to simply let the Southern states go, and live on in peace. . . . needless to say, Lincoln disagreed. . . . was this disagreement warranted? You tell me. Kerry . . . integrity? How would you know, when you can't pin him down on ANY of his stances? What's my point? The fact that, if it's resoluteness you admire most, as you seem to in your post, then surely George W. Bush, for all his faults, must be your candidate of choice.

No question that Bush is not the right man
but I wish I could feel better about Kerry being capable.
