The war "Gulf II"
In your article I see you have quoted from people who are unhappy with the war. Where are your quotes from Iraqis who have been liberated, and who are thanking the Coalition troops?
I don't agree with your outlook on the war, or that anti war protesters have in any way been vindicated. On the contrary. Coalition Forces (which are not unilateral, by the way) have found the elements for mustard gas, nerve agent, and other chemical weapons in Iraq, and have efficiently removed those weapons from the terrorist black market. As far as terrorists wanting to harm Americans more now than before... that is a shallow rationalization for a group of people who have been attacking us since 1993, more for our support of Israel than anything else, I believe. And the Palestinians who have supported Saddam's regime in the past week, volunteering to aid the Republican Guard as suicide bombers, and begging Saddam to use chemical weapons on Israel, have only exposed themselves for who they really are - and proven why no peace treaty between Israel and the Palestinians will ever come to fruition.
As an American observer of the middle east, it is my opinion that our pre-emptive strike on Saddam's regime is not the problem. The problem stems from all of the muslims in the middle east who hate infidels more than they love their own people. If they truly cared about the Iraqi people, they would be more concerned with their liberation from a terrorist dictator, than who has come to do the liberating.
Let us remember that Coalition Forces did not go in initially to free the Iraqi people, but to squelch the black market of terrorist activity which Saddam has supported. In doing so, however, the Coalition Forces have made Iraqi safety a priority, the result of which is the liberation of Iraq. It's the frosting on the cake, but no less sweet.
Thoughtfully,
Crusade
