- Go to Today we went to Australia, well pretended we were Outback Aborigines.
My granddaughter piled up dry bamboo and dog poop and began to rub
two sticks together. I wondered why she was squatting and rubbing sticks together and she reminded me of our trip to Australia and a previous one to Africa where we burned cow dung.
One never knows how a grandparents' lessons will be used in life!!! Luckily, it didn't catch fire as I would have beaten on it and gotten dog poop all over myself! Kids!!!

maj, one fabulous teacher, speaking of spawning salmon, had his class
pile up their old fashioned desks into a mountain and they all then climbed Everest, each desk representing another stage of the climb. He did things like that and won Teacher of the Year for the City, and maybe the state that year....He taught the messy wolfie wild little hippie children in a one room school up on a mountain in the Seventies.....Wonderful.
Auntie Mame, a woman, an example for.......?????us all????some others? female impersonators?ME??

Why do I keep remembering Auntie Mame
where the kids, when asked what they did at school that day, say they went under their desks and re-enacted spawning salmon.
!!
Enjoy the powwow

beachbelle, you should just pack lightly and run off with the family to Aus
tralia, "no worries". When you get there, be sure to go dance with the native people. I'm sure that you would love Australia, the people there are WONDERFUL!!!

cjam, I cannot bake cookies and so I come up with other ideas for the grand
children. I travelled all over and wish that I could take them all with me, so we travel with our imaginations after I study the subject, like the music and food and clothing of a place. This was our best trip yet and so I wrote about it.
Thanks for stopping and reading.

I remember this post from before. I liked it then and I like it now. If only it was so easy to really pop over to far away places like Australia.
