Driftwood - Blogithttp://www.blogit.com/Blogs/Blog.aspx/mneme/I started this blog in 2006, round about the time my 28-year marriage was unravelling. It was difficult for all concerned, even for my ex who handled the situation about as badly as it’s possible to do. The damage is still emerging, when I least expect it. The children are adults and both now live with their father in Australia.
After the divorce, the future initially looked bright. It still does, although there are a number of complications. I have a new relationship to nurture, sometimes thrown into confusion through my daughter’s negativity when she visits. I’m a member of the church choir, which is really important to me. I think I’m happy, apart from those moments of conflict and opposition that we can all do without. Time will tell. To quote William Shakespeare:
O time, thou must untangle this, not I.
It is too hard a knot for me t'untiehourly12000-01-01T12:00+00:00Oh dear lost the plothttp://www.blogit.com/Blogs/Blog.aspx/mneme/975339Does anyone know how to save an entry as you write? Other than as a document to be pasted in I mean. Of course I’ve just lost my well thought out entry (you have been spared- haha). Just annoyed with myself. Probably shouldn’t post ‘live’ from my iPad, it’s not always user friendly! Have a good...Daughter ..http://www.blogit.com/Blogs/Blog.aspx/mneme/974778I'm quite worried now by recent developments.. my daughter is fairly sure now that she wants to leave her partner. She tells me I can't help, I can't offer advice from this distance.. punishment for me of course but that doesn't stop me hating the idea of them splitting up. There are faults...At home, if not at peacehttp://www.blogit.com/Blogs/Blog.aspx/mneme/974556As often happens, when I peep into Blogit in a few spare minutes, something catches my attention and I start typing too much when responding to others. Today's entry is prompted by Taps, when I commented on her thoughts about night shifts and sleep patterns. I have never done a night shift,...Touchéhttp://www.blogit.com/Blogs/Blog.aspx/mneme/973770Found my own solution after all. Both men were absent for a while and so I was able to rinse out my towel in mild disinfectant, spin it dry and pop it in to the dryer as normal. Phew. I’m aware this all sounds silly. I just feel the need to have a little protective wall around my own sanity when...Here we go again.http://www.blogit.com/Blogs/Blog.aspx/mneme/973765It’s been a while since my last entry in this journal. Pity it’s the son of my partner, who lives with him - with us, since I‘m here most of the time - who has prompted me today. More precisely it’s today’s situation that has caused it. If I don’t get it off my chest it will bother me for the...Car keyshttp://www.blogit.com/Blogs/Blog.aspx/mneme/932781My sanity-saver is going to church on Sundays, not so much the Family Service every first Sunday in the month but as a choir member I never (usually) miss a Sunday. This time, however, I was prevented from going. My partner as usual was going to the newsagent to pick up the Sunday papers before...Life with Tiddlypushhttp://www.blogit.com/Blogs/Blog.aspx/mneme/929610(aka 'The Boy')... I have long suspected that TP has been helping himself to the Jacobs (cream crackers), not that there's anything actually wrong with that, although I do wish he would put the plastic box back tidy on the shelf instead of carelessly tossed there. Today I have been making soup;...Cream Crackeredhttp://www.blogit.com/Blogs/Blog.aspx/mneme/928907(titled especially for CCT who will know what it means). I've had a pretty productive day, spring cleaning at my house. I'm exhausted now. Partner is away for a few days with stepson so I am all by myself and enjoying my home. The downside of spending all our time at his house is that while I...Notre Damehttp://www.blogit.com/Blogs/Blog.aspx/mneme/928904I don't know how many bloggers remember, around 2006, 7? YPunday's Haiku blogs.... we would submit strings of haiku and YPunday would choose a winner - all very informal, and at the time very good fun. This was one of my entries, a long time ago, and it seems a good time to re-post it: Stained...Patience is a virtuehttp://www.blogit.com/Blogs/Blog.aspx/mneme/928523The conversation this morning between my partner and his forty-something son went something like this (I may have mentioned 'Charlie' calls his dad by name.. I think I have called him 'Jack' but that could change.. smile): Charlie (loudly, from the kitchen): Want a cup of tea Jack? Jack: No...
