Your mother comes out to check on you but knowing you're with your best friend, she knows you are safe and allows you to stay out a little longer. I was one of these fortunate children and the grassy hill was in our back yard and our collie, Bonnie, was my best friend. I am a children's author of a series titled "The Whimsy & Wisdom of Emma Pearl & Friends". Told in poetry and rhyme, these are the stories of Emma Pearl (my black Lab & best friend now) & Friends, how they perceive the world and the universe and the value they place on their family and each other.
