THE INQUISITION A MATTER OF POINT OF VIEW
LIKE THE CIVIL WAR It depends on what side you're on. The North typified it as maintaining the Union. We all have heard that the South called it the "War of Northern Agression". Same with the Inquisition. If you read my previous post, at the end you will see that some Protestant writers gave six...

IS IT TRUE THE CHURCH DID NOT TORTURE JEWS OR DISSIDENTS IN THE INQUISITION
Twodog has very accurate sources that say that apparently the Inquisition was not condoned by the Church, that it was not as bad as we understand it to be. I quote: FROM Two Dog And Politics (#2 in News & Politics) Wednesday, August 17, 2005 The Spanish Inquisition, A Justification For The Terrorist...

I NOTICE TWO BLOGGERS HERE
at least -- who certainly seem to depict what the title of this blog is about. But it's natural. They find those quotes and expositions that bolster their viewpont. Twodog's exposition on The Inquisition is one such example. You need to read it. This resembles what I read in a Catholic magazine some...

Wisdom is welcome from any direction. Our task is to open ourselves to it, to see criticism as an oiccason for growth... never to close ourselves off from challenge, even when it comes from places we con't expect and people we don't know" from reading Chapter 61 -- for August 15 Aug 16 - "Elie...

The Tao Te Ching in Benedictan philosophy
so I'm perusing The Rule of Benedict by Joan Chittister, O.S.B. as part of a course moving me toward actively working with incarcerated young people. I will eventually get around to my view of what a Christian really is in my blog on BEYOND THE EDIFICE -- TRANSCENDING TRADITIONAL CHRISTIANITY But most Christians hang their beliefs on medieval...

They came for - a series of quotes - different versions
When they came for the Jews, I wasn't Jewish, so I did nothing. When they came for the Homosexuals, I wasn't Homosexual so I did nothing. When they came for the gypsies, I wasn't a gypsy, so I did nothing. When they came for me, there was no one left to do anything. tom_paine (3942 posts) Nov-05-01,...

THEY HAD TO TURN THE LIGHT OFF BECAUSE OF JESUS
CHICAGO DID. Did you hear the story? This particular light in Chicago. Apparently it cast a shadow that some people said resembled Jesus. You can guess what happened. Fights broke out. So Chicago turned out the light. No more Jesus.

CHRISTIANS CAN'T HANDLE THE HARD QUESTIONS?
Kooka has asked in his blog, THE REV KOOKA SPEAKS, and I have asked, in the posts before this one, some very serious questions. Neither of us (and other questioners as well) has received an answer. If Christians are so secure in their faith, then they should be able to answer these questions...
