Hello Blogit, my old friend! It is I, Mister_E!

It's been WAY too long since I was able to post here and I love the community here, I truely, truly do! This site has changed a bit since I've been gone, and it's a bit disheartening to say the least. I'm adding this entry, because, well, at some point I need to start acting like part of the community and not some random Jackmonkey slapping the keyboard and hoping for the best! Nope, that's not the Blogit way, write, read and comment with speed!

So much has happened in the space of time that I've been gone. So much I wish to tell you all, sand so much that I wish to share as well! i've got TONS of content from other websites that I want to bring over here in the form of Listed Items, and it's my hope that we can all get to know one another through time and patience.

As always, I'll do my best to keep fresh content coming, I know there are a little over 1.3 million users here on Blogit, and that I'm just a single person, so I've got my work cut out for me... Also, heads up, I MIGHT be porting over some NSFW projects (weird erotic fiction, don't ask, in time it'll be made apparent) which are just forum threads turned into a story.

Or not, I'm still getting everything in order... Also, I have no idea when I might try this, and it's a massive undertaking, BUT I wanted to try a linked Blog novel with a few of you. Anyways, it's an idea in which, at it's core, is designed to boost readership and ranking from the participants writing parts of the same writing project. I'll use a few of my commenters as an Example.

"Anarchy: Energy of the Mind and Blood of the Heart"
A collaboration between Annicita, BC-A, FormerStudentIntern, Kabu, and MorganJGavin

Annicita's Part:

The ball is Red.

BC-A's part:

The red ball is rolling!

FormerStudentIntern's Part:

The rolling red ball is going down the stairs.

Kabu's Part:

As the red ball rolled and bounced down the stairs, the front door opened.

MorganJGavin's Part:

Then it promptly vanished, because that's the red ball way!

Something like that.

News about Rumor

I'm very sorry to have to inform you all that Rumor passed away on March 8, 2015.

Rumor had been on Blogit since 2006, so he will be greatly missed.

His wife asked that I notify all of his friends here on Blogit "as he had acquired many friends while he was blogging. He enjoyed it very much."

How to Get More Blogit Members

Each and every one of you has my permission to post my entry in your own blogs and to send it to Blogit in The Town Square and in e-mail, the links of which are the bottom of this entry.

Blogit has seen a decline in membership over the last several years. The time has long been due for Blogit to change the way it does business in order to attract more bloggers and readers. I believe I have the answer to how Blogit can increase its members. Given that Blogit still gets new bloggers, there are new people discovering Blogit every day who are not subscribing. The way to capture those people is to entice them to become readers. Open up Blogit.

What I mean by opening up Blogit is to allow people to read the bloggers here for free. If they wish to comment, those people must get a username, which is not unusual nowadays for websites to require people to have usernames to comment. Blogit could make money off of these users by running non-invasive online advertisements. The money would be split between Blogit and the blogger being read. Bubblews.com does just that. It is not about the money, though, to us. We on the website want to interact, and having a readership that comments would do just that.

For those of us writing, things would be the same. We would still pay to post. Blogit would still get half of our payments with the other half being dispersed amongst those we read. Because we are paying, we would not have advertisements. That is not unusual. WheresGeorge members who pay do not see online advertisements, and PWInsider, a wrestling webite, does the same for its members.

Here is why I believe that my idea will work. There is so much great free online content out there that readers are conditioned to not paying for. We have a great collection of bloggers whose material is not free to read. We cannot compete. Once readership becomes free, I see us bloggers getting more reads and comments, and we are all talented enough to sustain a readership. Some readers will be enticed to become bloggers. By no means will anyone become rich, but for most of us, it is about the interaction. We would get the interaction we crave.

I am going to post this entry in The Town Square and will send Blogit an e-mail as well. I have the links below. Hopefully, you will do the same. Again, I grant each and every one of you permission to copy and paste this entry to Blogit and in your blogs. Hopefully, the more people Blogit sees requesting this change will cause them to implement it. In closing, feel free to comment or post your own ideas. If a better idea comes along, I will support it.

I am new here

I just joined a few days ago. It is quiet to me. Not sure if it is because people are not coming back from holiday season. I will wait and see.

New Here

Hello All

I seem to be sort of discouraged as this site seems to be sort of non-exciting and I blog quite a bit but just joined here and seems like I could continue to blog for free!!! So I am just joining and will wait and see how it goes but after a month and there is no action I will also quit this site. I welcome any suggestions , comments etc.

Thanks i am looking for insight which could jump- start my writing!

Thanks Dee

I'm with Kabu- wondering where Blogit is going and does anyone really care?  I have often wondered how much the blogit creators really care where blogit is going and if they are just sitting on it till the last pennies come in. I suppose that is their purogative. Myself, I am here for the practice to see if blogging is for me- putting out the cash and maybe getting some back is some incentive- but i'm not doing so well. I suppose time and "the mood" has been working against me. Now I'm going to try to blog about my own self and my life that might scare some but its what I got. Hope you check it out and I can keep working on it! Thanks for your time.

I haven't been here for perhaps a couple of years...I know why...It is

mostly a  dead end  I think that people want to be paid to write, now if we were paid extra to be here or something surely we would all use it. Since that is just a fantasy, I shall leave too.
