Fact or Fiction: Gas Shortages Real!

Do you remember the '70's when we had to ration gas because of the Arab boycott? I lived in Florida at the time, and you bought gas on even or odd days; if your car tag ended with an even number you bought gas on designated even days, and if it ended with an odd number, you bought gas on odd number...
