Elvis has left the building. After Elvis's concerts this was an annoucement made to get the fans to leave. It now is used when an event has ended. It seems like a strange idiom if you consider people are still having Elvis citings as if he never left anywhere. I also use this one: " the floor is... Sign in to see full entry.
