Today I got news that rocked my world - and not in a good way. My beautiful 8 year old granddaughter was diagnosed as bi-polar. This is the second of my grandchildren diagnosed with this condition. Why is it that the drive home always seems longer than the drive there? Today was a day of crafting. My daughter made a gorgeous wreath out of - you won't believe it - coffee filters! She watered down paint, dipped the coffee filters in and gently wrung them out, and laid them out on waxed paper to dry. Then she made them into flowers and glued them on a styrofoam... What a glorious day for a drive. It takes me about 2 hours and 20 min. to get to Manhattan to see my daughter. The best part is driving through the Flint Hills.
