Our web hosting provider has been experiencing intermittent connection issues for the past two hours. We apologize for the inconvenience.
The Network appears to be functioning normally at this time, and we will continue monitoring the connection.
Update: this was the result of a "virus-like attack" that caused connection issues across the entire Internet.

The Network was down from 6:08 PM to 6:32 PM PST due to a problem accessing the database.

For people who use the new Netscape 7 browser, a problem that would prevent posts from being added has been resolved.

Site temporarily down for database maintenance
The Blogging Network web site was down between 6:46 AM and 7:09 AM PST for database maintenance. The database server has been upgraded with new software.
The site is now back up and is functioning normally.

Improvements: description and Headlines link
We've implemented a number of minor bug fixes and cosmetic improvements. The most obvious change: if a blog is using the default template, its full description and a link to its main page now appear in the right column.
For people who use an aggregator such as BlogHog, a link to each blog's headlines is now included at the bottom of its page. (What is this?)
