I cried from sorrow, everyone else was whooping with delight

As I have said, we were a poor family and by the time I was 15 years old Dad was too ill to work and Mum insisted I leave school and get a job! I was mortified as I had done well in my exams and really wanted to stay at school, go to college and then university, so yes I cried, no more school... Sign in to see full entry.
